Healthy simple to make orange yoghurt drink

This heathy, simple to make, orange yoghurt drink is a delicious alternative for a morning or afternoon snack. It only contains 3 ingredients and doesn’t take long to make.

Oranges

I love to use fresh oranges from the tree in my backyard, but unfortunately it doesn’t produces enough oranges all year round. So I like to buy my oranges at the local farmers market or organic oranges in the grocery store. When I buy my oranges, if I can find them, I like the Valencia oranges the most as those have the most delicious sweet juice. Unfortunately, they are not always in store. That’s why, when they are available I buy more, juice them and freeze the juice for later use.

Greek yoghurt

For this tasty recipe I use plain whole milk Greek yoghurt as it has a great enriched flavor. When you prefer to go dairy free you can use any type of yoghurt. I would recommend not to use flavored yoghurts like vanilla or strawberry yoghurt because it will change the flavor of the drink itself and it contains sugar. I like to be in control of the amount of sweetness I add, that’s why I like to use honey.

Honey

The honey I like to use comes from a local beekeeper because it has a more rich and complex flavor. But all types of honey can be used for this recipe.

As I post this delicious orange yoghurt drink as a drink, you can also freeze any leftovers it in a popsicle mold and give it to your children as a dessert or enjoy it as another alternative for a snack on a hot summer day. I like the Zoku molds as they are known for easy release of the popsicle and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

  • 4 large spoons of plain Greek yoghurt, other options are possible if you prefer not to use dairy
